We all know people who don’t like needles or who are afraid of them. For some needle fear can be more pronounced and cause people to avoid vaccinations of all kinds. That might mean refusing the annual flu shot, Covid vaccine and any number of other potentially life-saving medicines.

Needle fear therapy available

While Covid vaccinations and the flu shot are top of mind at this time of year, especially with government and employer vaccination requirements, the fear of needles can be debilitating. Help is available. The Centre of Psychology at the University of Ottawa is looking for candidates to attend their in-person group therapy sessions on “Overcoming Needle Fear”.
