SUMMARY:Spring Cleaning the Capital
DESCRIPTION:Cleaning the Capital – Riverview Park Edition this Saturday April 25th & May 2nd\n\n\nHelp us get our streets\, parks and greenspaces cleaned up this Spring throughout Riverview Park as part of the City of Ottawa’s Cleaning Up the Capital program!\n\n\nGrab a bag and some gloves and get out there to pick up garbage and recyclable items littering our neighbourhood. We encourage you to do this anytime you are out walking and especially on our organized clean up days: The dates for the Riverview Park Cleaning the Capital program are planned for this weekend as listed below:\n\n\n1. Wooded area between the hydro corridor and the Hospital Link Road between Alta Vista and Balena\, and the north & south side of the hospital link road and the hydro corridor from Alta Vista to Balena meeting at the Bridge at the end of Knox by Cluny St. at 10 am on Saturday\, April 25th.\n\n\n2. Balena park area and Hydro Corridor to the Perley – meeting at the Balena Field House at 1640 Devon St. at 10 am on Saturday\, April 25th\n\n\n3. Coronation Park and the path behind Maplewood Retirement Home meeting at the playground in Coronation Park on Saturday\, May 2nd at 10 am.\n\n\n4. The wooded area along Coronation Avenue from Weyburn to Neighbourhood Way and the path to Trainyards – meeting at the bus stop at Weyburn & Coronation on Saturday April 25th at 10 am.\n\n\n5. Dale Park clean up meeting in Dale Park on Saturday\, April 25th at 10 am.\n\n\n\n\n\nOther individuals have committed to clean up the Community Path between Dorion & Drake\, the Community path between Bathurst & Devon\, and Riverview Park on their own time.\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease pick an area nearby and come out and help. If you can’t make these times you can do your part by cleaning around your own place – every bit helps!\n\n\nIdeally everyone should collect and separate garbage and recyclables putting them out in your own waste appropriately.\n\n\nIf you need supplies (disposable gloves / garbage bags) OR wish to have your hour(s) collecting litter recorded for high school volunteer hours\, please send an email directly to: FoRPGSOttawa@gmail.com\n\n\nShow us the trash you collected! Take some photos of you or your family/neighbours hard at work or smiling after a job well done and post them on Facebook at Riverview Park Community Association (RPCA) and Friends of Riverview Park Green Spaces. And send them to our RPCA website and FoRPGSOttawa@gmail.com.\n\n\nThanks for helping out!\n\n\n  \n
