The architectural design reveal of the Ottawa Public Library – Library and Archives Canada Joint Facility!

On January 23, 2020, the City of Ottawa, Ottawa Public Library and Library and Archives Canada will reveal the architectural design for our newest landmark destination: the Ottawa Public Library – Library and Archives Canada Joint Facility.

The public is invited to celebrate this major milestone at an event at the Ottawa Art Gallery where they can view a video walk-through, see a large 3D model of the facility, and speak with the architects who designed the facility.

Date: Thursday, January 23

Time: 4 – 8 pm

Place: Alma Duncan Salon, Ottawa Art Gallery, 50 Mackenzie King Bridge

The story of the new Ottawa Public Library and Library and Archives Canada Joint Facility is one of coming together to create connections. Born of a unique collaboration between municipal and federal institutions, the architectural design is the direct result of an unprecedented public co-design process that asked Ottawa residents, Indigenous communities, and Canadians from coast to coast to provide inspiration at every stage of the design.

The power of these connections is shown in the results: a design that truly reflects its communities and its country, in the heart of the national capital.
